Dave Loebsack Visits Washington, Iowa

Dave Loebsack made another visit to Washington, Iowa and met people on July 25, 2009, gathered at the Blair House. The discussion consisted primarily of issues relating to work in the U.S Congress on Health Care. Dave described the complexities and controversies occurring over the past few months and the status of measures at this time. Dave answered a number of questions from the floor on issues of medicare, the public option, benefits now received by federal employees, focus on preventative care and the likelihood of action over the next few months.

Dave also talked about other issues such as our role in Afghanistan, noting that he had just returned from a fact finding mission in Afghanistan in early July. He expressed deep concern in our role over the long run and felt that our time there would soon have an exit strategy.
